The Awareness Lab · 8 weeks · 10 seats

You already know what to do. You have known for three days.

You wake up at 3am and remember what you needed to do. In your mind, you draft the message and delete it again. You aren't short on judgment, or caring. You are short on a way to get quiet enough to use it wisely.

But eight weeks from now, that tight feeling in your chest will just be more information. It won't keep you awake all night. You take the breath. You make the calls. You do the hard thing. You lead from steadiness instead of reaction. It's not a personality flaw. It's a systems flaw. Learning to pause is a skill.

Make the tough call in one breath.

Eight weeks. Ten people. One hour a week.

$697 founding rate. Ten seats, hard cap. Come to the first two sessions and if it is not for you, full refund.

Awake at 3am, phone in hand

The version nobody at work sees.

The short fuse at home

You held it together for eight hours. The people who get what is left over are the ones you would least choose to give it to.

The evening that disappears

Not resting. Not present. Just gone. Scrolling, pouring, half-watching something until it is late enough to go to bed.

Low on sleep

You wake up tired. Somewhere around 2am you re-ran Tuesday's hard conversation and lost it again, this time with better lines.

Then you blame the room, or you blame others. Then you feel like a heel about blaming the room.

Nothing is wrong. That is the part that is hard to say out loud, or even admit to yourself.

Work is fine. Family is good. No crisis, and you would feel silly claiming otherwise. By every measure anyone can see, you are doing well.

And still. There is a quiet voice that shows up in the car, or when you are worn out, or on Sunday night before the week starts again. It asks whether this is it. Whether the wheel ever slows down.

You have probably never said that sentence to another person. You might not even admit it to yourself. It does not have to get bad before it is worth looking at.

You have been trying to solve the inside from the outside.

The instinct is to push harder. More output. More control. Tighter calendar. One more book, one more course, one more system that will finally hold.

It works for a while. That is the trap. It got you here, so you reach for more of it.

It runs the other direction. Steady the inside, and the outside stops needing so much management. The hard call gets easier because you are not making it through a clenched jaw.

That is not a mindset. It is a skill. It can be trained, it takes about eight weeks to install, and almost nobody installs it alone.

Follow one person around, before and after.

Before

A hard call sits on his desk for three days. He drafts the message Monday, rewrites it Wednesday, sends something worse than the first draft on Friday. He is short with two people on Thursday for reasons that have nothing to do with Thursday. He tells himself it is a busy season. It has been a busy season for four years.

After

Same call, same stakes. He notices the tightening in his chest before he notices the story about it. He takes one breath. He makes the call Monday afternoon and goes to lunch. Nobody in the room knows anything happened. That is the point. The steadiness does not announce itself, it just stops costing everyone else.

  • You stop white-knuckling everything.
  • You feel it in the body first. Lighter. Less jaw. Less chest.
  • People notice before you do.
  • You have the conversation you have been avoiding.
  • You stop performing quite so hard, at work and in your own skin.
  • You stop asking what is wrong with me, and start asking what this is trying to tell me.

“I didn't know that I could or should like myself until recently. Now I can breathe, trust myself, and build a life that actually feels like home.”
Erin Haworth, Public Relations CEO
“If you've ever felt the gap between outer success and inner clarity, talk to Mark.”
Fabian Erlhöfer, former exec and life coach
“I stopped getting emotional in high-stakes moments. I learned to slow down before reacting. My team has followed me across three different companies because of how I lead.”
Glenn Fung, Senior VP, Healthcare Technology
“Just one session with Mark changed the way I showed up, at work and in life. I actually followed through on the plan, said no more often, and felt more in control of my energy than I have in months.”
J.S. Madsen, Pharma Exec
“Mark has a rare gift: cutting through the noise with precision, while making you feel completely safe in the process. I stopped hiding.”
Daniel Stroh, scientist and entrepreneur

Three phases. Eight sessions. One hour a week.

None of this was invented for a sales page. Every week has an episode behind it, and a year of teaching behind that, from the original Awareness Lab. If you want to know what you are buying, go listen first.

Mark teaching live

Phase one. Tune the instrument.

Week 1 Tune the Instrument The body is the instrument. Establish the daily practice, about a minute a day to start. Listen →
Week 2 Find the Pause The gap between the trigger and the response. Where the decision actually lives. Listen →
Week 3 Steady Under Load Hold the pause where it is hard. Pressure, conflict, the meeting that goes sideways. Listen →

Phase two. Expose the ego.

Week 4 Meet the Stuffer Name the mask and count what it costs to keep wearing it. Listen →
Week 5 See the Story Thoughts as thoughts, not facts. The ones that sound like wisdom are the expensive ones. Listen →
Week 6 Drop the Armor Look at what the mask was protecting. This is the week people remember. Listen →

Phase three. Lead from awareness.

Week 7 Lead from Awareness Respond instead of react, in real time, in the room, with people watching. Listen →
Week 8 Carry It Forward Build the practice that outlasts the cohort, so you do not snap back in November. Listen →

Eight weeks of the actual work.

  • Eight live coaching and discussion calls. One hour, once a week, with Mark and the cohort. Not a lecture. You will be talking.
  • A new guided meditation every week. Recorded, and yours to keep after the cohort ends.
  • Daily guided meditation, live. A standing space to practice with others every day on YouTube Live. No discussion, just practice, so you know you are not doing this alone.
  • Every live session recorded. Miss a week, catch up. Sit with a session again when it lands differently the second time.
  • A cohort of ten. A small enough room that people say the true thing, and small enough that Mark knows what is going on with you by week three.
  • A short mini-retreat, the last weekend. A real retreat, in the original sense: stepping away from the noise and chaos of the world into a few hours of quiet, focused attention, before you carry it into what comes next.

What happens after week eight

At the end of the cohort Mark will make an offer for continued work, one to one or in a group. It is a separate decision at a separate price.

It is not included here, and nothing in the eight weeks depends on you saying yes to it. You are buying eight weeks. If eight weeks is all you want, eight weeks is what you get.

Come to the first two sessions. Then decide.

If after week two this is not your room, tell Mark and he will refund you in full. The seat goes to the next person on the list. No forms, no exit interview, no talking you out of it.

He has been saying a version of this about coaching for years. If he is not the right coach for you, he will tell you and point you toward someone who is.

The five things people ask.

I do not have time for this.

One hour a week for eight weeks. Set that against the three days a hard call currently sits on your desk, the Thursday you spend recovering from Wednesday, and the hour at 2am you are already awake for.

The daily practice takes about a minute to start. It builds from there. The pause gives time back. That is not a slogan, it is the mechanism. Most of what eats your week is the second and third pass at decisions you could have made once.

I tried meditating and it did not work.

Alone and unstructured, it fades. Almost everyone quits around day nine and concludes something is wrong with them.

This is a method, a cohort and a standing hour on the calendar. Different thing. The practice is the tool inside the work, not the point of it.

I should be able to figure this out myself.

That belief is the competence trap, and it is the reason you are still here. It has worked in every other domain of your life, which is exactly why you trust it.

You cannot see the pattern you are standing inside. That is not a character flaw, it is how attention works. It takes a room and someone who has been there.

Does Mark actually get my world?

Twenty five years leading in tech. Service and support, technical writing, knowledge management, product ownership. He performed well in high stakes rooms while privately coming apart, for a long time, before he did anything about it.

He has sat in your chair and knows the weight of it. This is not therapy and it is not a pep talk.

What if I miss a week?

Every session is recorded. Watch it before the next call and you are current. Missing two in a row is a harder problem, and Mark will tell you that directly rather than let you drift.

Run the next twelve months exactly the way you ran the last twelve.

You will be fine. That is the problem. Fine is sustainable for a very long time, which is why people stay in it for years and call it a season.

The calls still take three days. The 2am replay still runs. Your family still gets the version of you with nothing left in it. The quiet question gets a little louder and a little easier to ignore at the same time.

Nothing forces this. Nobody is going to make you. That is exactly why most people do not do it.

A group standing quietly together at sunset

So can you actually learn this?

Yes. It is a skill, not a personality. Eight weeks, ten people, one hour a week, starting in October.
